ALC and JBS Students fill boxes for Operation Christmas Child

ALC and JBS students fill boxes for Operation Christmas Child

Alice Lloyd College has provided for children around the world for a number of years through Operation Christmas Child, an organization that collects festive red and green shoeboxes filled with gifts for boys and girls around the world. The boxes contain not only toys, school supplies, and hygiene items but also the Good News of Jesus Christ. This year the College donated 761 shoeboxes to Operation Christmas Child. The boxes generously prepared by both Alice Lloyd College and The June Buchanan School students left Pippa Passes before Thanksgiving, destined for one of the 160 countries Operation Christmas Child delivers annually.

Mary Turner, ALC Campus Ministries Coordinator, had this reflection about the thoughtful support of the Alice Lloyd College Community on this endeavor, “All of God’s children need to be told and shown His love. Operation Christmas Child does just that and more. This organization allowed our college students to see that it is not the gift, but the heart behind it that matters most. I can’t imagine the full significance of these boxes, they say one box touches the lives of a whole village. We are grateful to continually be a part of this amazing opportunity to spread God’s love”.
