PIPPA PASSES, KY- The Alice Lloyd College Eagle’s baseball team played host to the Kentucky State University Thorobreds on Tuesday.

February 27
KSU-17 | ALC-2

The hosts got off to a nice start. After the visitors plated 1 run in the first, the Eagles answered back. Juan Lander reached base with a single and was driven in shortly by a sacrifice from Chance Cornett. Later, after Austyn Turner reached base, he was knocked in by Will Hubbard. The flurry gave the hosts the 2-1 advantage

However, the bottom would soon drop out on the Eagles as they proved to be their own worst enemy. The usually reliable defense suffered mightily as they committed several crucial errors. This helped lead to 6 runs for KSU in the next inning. Unfortunately, the pattern remained the same the remainder of the contest as errors would be the deciding factor in allowing K. State to pull away in convincing fashion with several big innings.

On the day, ALC ended up with just two hits, a double by Dalton Cornett and the single from Lander. Kentucky State got a big day from Darion Dull, who had 2 hits, including a home run, and his squad outhit ALC 12-2.

On the mound, Dom Lawson took the win, allowing 2 hits while striking out 4. Broderick Moore suffered the loss giving up 5 hits while whiffing 2 batters.
