OWENSBORO, Ky. — Alice Lloyd (Ky.) College made a big statement with an 88-75 road win at Brescia (Ky.) University in the KIAC Men’s Basketball Game of the Week on Saturday.

Tyler Rogers scored 28 points to lead four Alice Lloyd players in double figures. The Eagles built a 12-point lead in the first half and were ahead, 44-36, at the break.

Alice Lloyd (7-7, 3-1 KIAC) shot 60 percent for the game to come out with the 13-point win. Cody Stumbo added 19 points, Shane Hall had 13 and Austin Crisp 10 for the Eagles.

Brescia (9-6, 3-1 KIAC) had been in first place in the KIAC Capital Division and was 5-1 at home entering the day. The Bearcats shot a respectable 44 percent but could not keep up.

Austin Morris led Brescia with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Trey Howard and Kyle Nixon posted 15 points each, and Tavon Johnson added 11.

Alice Lloyd picked up its third victory in a row and its third straight KIAC win to pull within a virtual tie with division leader Cincinnati Christian (2-0 KIAC) and Brescia for first place.

Alice Lloyd’s next game is Jan. 5 at Cincinnati Christian.
