Students in Mrs. Henderson’s Art classes have been working diligently on their art and penmanship works. Congratulations to the following JBS students for the awards they received in the 2012 Gingerbread Penmanship Contest. There were 109 entries from four county elementary schools. Only 27 awards were given.
2nd Grade: Caitlin Cook – 2nd place; Parker Hammond – 3rd place
5th Grade: Madison Huff – 1st place; Nikolas Cornett – 2nd place; Samantha Bryant – 3rd place.
8th Grade: Megan Hall – 1st place; Tyra Lamb – 3rd place.

2nd Grade: McKenzie Slone – 3rd place for her Colored Drawing, “Birds of a Feather”; 3rd place for her Black & White Drawing, “Playful Kitten.” Caitlin Cook – Honorable Mention for her Color Drawing, “Cockatoo.” Parker Hammond – Honorable Mention for his Watercolor/Tempera painting, “Parrot Family.”
