The June Buchanan School’s Art Appreciation class recently enjoyed a visit by an esteemed architect. Martin Summers, a former associate of Morphosis, an international architect firm, gave an amazing presentation on opportunities and trends in the field of architecture. From the history of design to the future use of technology in construction, Mr. Summers enlightened and encouraged the students to consider their potential in the arts. The students enjoyed seeing his work on projects ranging from the Phare Tower, in Paris, France, to federal buildings in Los Angeles. Mr. Summers is currently a visiting professor at the University of Kentucky’s College of Design, where he and his wife Regina, also an architect, are lending their expertise to the program. The June Buchanan School is excited to have both of them back in Kentucky and welcome future visits.
