About Alice Lloyd College
The year's at the spring,
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hillside's dew-pearled;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn:
God's in his heaven—
All's right with the world!
—Robert Browning, "Pippa's Song" from Pippa Passes

Biography: I was raised right down the road from Alice Lloyd, here in Knott County, in a family of five. I live with my parents, a younger sister, and a younger brother. I have always been involved at school and in extracurricular activities, such as volleyball. When I'm not working or at school, my hobbies include riding my horse, singing in church, four-wheeling, and enjoying the nice weather!
What was the most important thing you learned while attending Alice Lloyd College?
"I have learned so many life lessons during my time here at Alice Lloyd College. The most important thing, thus far, would have to be how to present myself in a professional manner. Alice Lloyd has taught me how to be respectful to both myself and the people I'm around, either at school or in my work place."
What advice would you give to prospective students?
"Get ready to work! The teachers here at ALC will teach you how to study and they expect you to try your best. Alice Lloyd may be a small college, but to me, that's one of their best qualities. The teachers are able to maintain a one-on-one relationship with their students, which helps if students should have any questions or problems."
Why did you choose to attend Alice Lloyd College?
"I was raised around the college, so it's always been an option. The decision maker, however, was it was financially affordable for me. I want to graduate basically debt-free and have the satisfaction of knowing I worked for my education. Alice Lloyd will give you that satisfaction."
How did Alice Lloyd College prepare you for life after graduation?
"Alice Lloyd has prepared me for life in many ways. I now know what's acceptable and professional in the work place; I know how to communicate and listen to others without getting personal feelings involved; and I know that not everything will go as I want it to at first. You have to work, and work hard, for what you deserve."
What was the highlight of your Alice Lloyd experience?
"Thus far, the highlight of my ALC experience would have to be building my relationships with my teachers. I know that, even after I graduate, if I ever need them for support or advice, they will welcome me with open arms. That, to me, means so much."
