Cincinnati, OH: The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles softball team journeyed to southern Ohio over the weekend of April 6th and 7th. Following are recaps of each contest.

April 6
GAME 1
Alice Lloyd – 15 | Ohio University Chillicothe – 7

The Eagles came from 4 runs down to take the opener.

The Ohio squad scored first with 3 runs in their opening at-bat. ALC responded with 2 of their own in the bottom of the inning.

 After OUC scored 3 more in the second to push ahead, 6-2, ALC began their comeback

ALC plated 1 run in both the third and fourth innings to trail 6-4. After Chillicothe got 1 run back in the fifth (7-4), The Lady Eagles exploded for 8 huge runs in the bottom of the inning to blow the contest open (12-7). The visitors would then close the contest one inning later when they secured 3 more runs.

Jada Estep led the way going 5-5 with 3 RBI’s. Mercedez Gilliam added 3 hits while Alyssa Clark, Hannah Buchanan, Abby Stambaugh, Morgan Robinson, and Mckenzie Brewer all had 2 hits.

Brewer started the game on the mound and earned the win.

ALC pounded out 20 hits on the day.

 GAME 2
Alice Lloyd – 19 | Cincinnati Clermont – 4

 The visitors exploded for 19 runs in the big victory.

 ALC jumped out quickly with 2, 5, and 4 runs in their first three innings of play to lead 11-0.

After Clermont scored 3 runs in the bottom of the third to slice the score to 11-3, the Lady Eagles put the game away with 8 big runs in the fourth.

Jada Estep and Clark led the way with 3 hits apiece while Clark added 2 RBI’s.

Stambaugh led the club with 3 hits while Lydia Mcintosh and Madison Gaines each had 2 hits to the cause.

Clark had a big triple while Stambaugh and Gaines added doubles.

On the mound, Haley Howell would toss a 5 hitter to earn the win.

Alice Lloyd won the hitting battle, 15-5.

 April 7
GAME 1
Alice Lloyd – 18 | Cincinnati Clermont – 0

 The visitors picked up where they left off from the previous day to earn the quick win.

ALC jumped out quickly with 5 runs before unleashing 10 huge runs in the second to lead 15-0. They would then add 3 more runs to seal the deal.

Stambaugh, Gaines and Maddison Minks each had 3 hits.

Gaines unleashed a big home run while Clark (2) and Estep added triples. All three added 3 RBI’s, as did Buchannan.

On the mound, Haley Howell earned the win.

Alice Lloyd won the hitting battle, 16-6.

GAME 2
Alice Lloyd – 15 | Cincinnati Clermont – 6

The visitors picked up the game two win to earn the series sweep.

ALC jumped out quickly with 2, 2, and 5 runs to lead 9-4 after three innings of play. 3 runs in each of the final two innings led to the satisfying conclusion.

Alexis Napier and Clark led the way with 3 hits each while Estep, Buchannan, Howell, and Brewer all had 2 hits.

Clark (2) and Napier added triples while Brewer added a double. All three added 3 RBI’s, as did Buchannan. Napier drove in 4RBI’s

On the mound, Gilliam earned the win.

Alice Lloyd won the hitting battle, 18-0.
