Wilmore, KY: The Alice Lloyd College Eagles traveled to Wilmore to face the Asbury University Eagles in their final River States Conference match of the season on Thursday, February 14th. Backed by the strength of fourteen three point bombs, the hosts would prevail, 92-73.

The hometown Asbury Eagles came out of the gate on fire as they quickly raced out to a 19-9 advantage.

ALC would claw back into contention and get within six only to see AU sink a couple of late threes and take a 45-34 advantage heading into intermission.

In the second half, Asbury celebrated their senior night by opening up on an 11-2 run to extend their lead to twenty (56-36). The hometown squad would then make their cushion hold up until the final buzzer.

For ALC (12-17; 6-12 RSC), they were led by junior forward Chance Cornett with 15 points. He was followed closely behind by junior guard Blake Smith with 14 points.

Sophomore guard Noah Young added 13 points and led the squad in both rebounds (8) and assists (5) while senior forward Simon Christon added 10 points.

Their squad connected on 37.5% (27-72) from the field and 26.3% (5-19) from long range. They hit 56% (14-25) from the foul line and added 45 rebounds and 17 assists.

AU (19-9; 12-5 RSC) was led by Deion Cochran and Clarien Washington, each with 16 points. Their club connected on 49.3% (33-67) from the field, including a deadly 51.9% (14-27) from long range. They hit 80% (12-15) from the foul line and added 34 rebounds and 16 assists.

Alice Lloyd will return to the hardwood on Saturday, February 16th, for the final game of the season when they host the Kentucky Christian University Knights on Senior Day. Weather permitting, tip-off is set for 3:00 pm.
