Pippa Passes, Ky. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 266 baseball student-athletes have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Hastings (Neb.) leads all institutions with nine individuals on the list.

In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

For Alice Lloyd, junior baseball standout Bobby Caldwell was named to this prestigious group.

Caldwell, a native of Manchester, KY, and graduate of North Laurel High School, currently maintains an outstanding 3.72 GPA at ALC where he is a Social Science major. On the diamond, he batted .296 with a slugging percentage of .519. He also led the team with 3 home runs.

Caldwell is the son of Brad Caldwell and Anita Cornett.
