The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles softball team battled the IU Southeast Lady Grenadiers in a two-game series this past weekend. Here is a quick look at the games, which were played in Pippa Passes, Kentucky.

GAME 1

ALC 0

IUS 9

In the first game, IU Southeast came out with hot bats as they would score one run in the first inning and eight in the second. ALC wasn’t able to get much going as they only managed to produce three hits. Taylor Short, Kayla Stambaugh, and Kristin Fields had the hits.

Shayla Brinegar gets a hit for the Lady Eagles.

GAME 2

ALC 2

IUS 3

The second game of the series turned out to be a close contest. IUS got things started in the third inning with two runs only to see Alice Lloyd get one of those runs back in the sixth.

The Lady Grenadiers earned an insurance run in the top of the seventh that turned out to be the difference as Alice Lloyd could only get one run across for the rest of the game.

Shayla Brinegar and Jerrica Young had the RBIs for ALC.

The Lady Eagles will travel to Asbury on April 2nd for a doubleheader that begins at 3 PM.
