The Alice Lloyd women’s tennis program, under the direction of head coach Mary Turner, is pleased to announce the signing of Valley High School’s Morgan Castle to an athletic letter of intent for the 2013-14 season. Coach Turner journeyed to Portsmouth, OH for the signing ceremony and returned to Pippa Passes with the fresh signature of the Lady Indians’ ace. Castle reportedly selected ALC over concentrating solely on academics at Ohio Christian, Kentucky Christian, or Morehead State University.

“Alice Lloyd is all about leadership,” Castle said. “That’s what appealed to me the most.”

Coach Mary Turner has been working hard to build up Alice Lloyd women’s tennis by recruiting players who not only believe in the College’s mission, but who have the skills necessary to establish a firm foundation for the fledgling program.

“I was really impressed with Morgan‘s drive and power on the court,” said Coach Turner. “I think she’s going to be a great fit with our team. My team is a tight-knit bunch, and we’re already ready to welcome her into the fold.”

Tennis will not be Castle‘s only concern at Alice Lloyd; she is extremely focused on academics. She plans to study in ALC’s rigorous and demanding biology program.

Alice Lloyd College Athletics and Athletic Director Gary Stepp are proud to welcome Morgan Castle into the Eagles family.
