The Caney Convocation Series is pleased to welcome Dr. John Buckingham and Ms. Betsy Christiansen from Mission to the World (MTW). Dr. Buckingham, a volunteer in the ALC Social Entrepreneurship Program and a volunteer with MTW, and Ms. Christiansen, an MTW Medical Missionary, will be sharing a devotion about missions.
Mission to the World seeks to:
Plant Churches Worldwide
MTW mobilizes the worldwide Church for growth, actively serving in more than 60 countries.
Respond to a World in Need
The mercy ministries outreach of MTW highlights the crucial role of word and deed ministry in the growth of the Church around the world.
Serve the Church
MTW equips churches to carry out their unique vision for advancing the gospel of Christ through a variety of resources, including consulting services for pastors and missions leaders.
MTW connects people with opportunities to serve, whether as part of a one- or two-week missions team, as an intern, a business person mentoring start-ups, or a full-time missionary.
Serve The MTW Missionaries
MTW provides ministry and financial support services for their missionaries including training and development, family support, and spiritual counseling.
Come join us on Thursday, March 22nd, at 1 PM in the Estelle Campbell Center for the Arts for this special program, which is sure to be an enlightening and inspirational hour.
Dr. Buckingham and Ms. Christiansen will also be presenting on Thursday night from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM in Cushing Hall, but no convo credit will be given for the evening event. This presentation is part of the College’s Social Entrepreneurship Program. Our guests will be speaking about specifics concerning missions, Business as Mission, and Social Entrepreneurship.
The theme of the Business as Mission aspect of the program is XChange: Business Minded. Kingdom Focused. The idea is that one can change the world through business and be changed in the process. Dr. Buckingham and Ms. Christiansen will share the message that through MTW’s XChange program you can use your business knowledge and experience to make a difference in the lives of people around the world.
