The Alice Lloyd College Eagles Baseball team traveled to Owensboro to open up KIAC conference play against the Brescia University Bearcats. Following are the results of each game.

 

 

February 29

Game 1

Alice Lloyd led 4-0 after the top of the third inning, but saw the hosts rally to score 6 runs in the bottom of the inning and use that momentum to pull out the victory.

For ALC, Trey King and Kevin Smith had two hits and 1 RBI apiece. Jeff Cyrus drove in 2 runs on the strength of a crushing home run.

Pitcher Drew Riley suffered the loss. He gave up 7 hits and whiffed 4 Bearcat batters.
Brescia outhit the Eagles 8-7.

 

 

February 29

Game 2

BU 9

Brescia broke open a close game with a five-run third inning. The Eagles hurt themselves with four errors. At the plate, ALC was outhit 11-7.

Devon Pelfrey and Dustin Kingsmore led the way with 2 hits apiece, including a double for Pelfrey. Trae Minton, Shannon Roberts, and Taylor Sewell each had 1 RBI apiece.

Pitcher Trevor Corns suffered the loss. He gave up 7 hits and 7 runs (4 earned) while whiffing 3 Bearcat batters.

 

March 1

Game 1

BU 4

ALC held a 2-1 lead until the last of the fifth inning before falling. Brescia had 6 hits to the Eagles’ 4. Devon Pelfrey had half of the ALC hits, while he and Devon Denson each had 1 RBI.

Pitcher Corey Brewer suffered the tough loss on the mound. He gave up 5 hits and 3 runs while whiffing 1 Bearcat batter.

 

March 1

Game 2

ALC 8

BU 10

The Eagles led 8-7 until the bottom of the sixth. Cody Hyden smacked 3 hits, while Will Leonard and Bobby Caldwell each stroked 2. Trae Minton lined a triple. Arnold led the way with 2 RBIs. Both clubs recorded 12 hits.

Pitcher Wayne Sparks suffered the loss on the mound. He gave up 11 hits and 7 runs while whiffing 5 Bearcat batters.
