Berea, Ky. (February 27th, 2012) –  The KIAC has announced the Women’s Basketball All-Conference team and individual awards, and Alice Lloyd College is proud to confirm that KIAC coaches have selected ALC’s sophomore forward Ariel Nickell as the Conference Player of the Year.

Nickell led Alice Lloyd to a regular season third place finish in the conference with a 6-5 record. She led the conference with 22.5 points per game and was fourth in field goal percentage with 43.5 percent. Her points per game average was fourth in NAIA Division II. She ranked 18th nationally with 9.23 rebounds per game.

ALC’s feisty forward was also named to the All-Conference team.

In other news, Asbury University Head Coach Bart Flener was named Conference Coach of the Year. Also, Asbury University guard Trenia Barbee was named Newcomer of the Year.
