Sophomore Isaac Wilson and senior Brandon Hayes combined for 39 points to help lead the Alice Lloyd College Eagles to an 83-71 victory over the visiting Crown College Royal Crusaders last night. With the win, ALC ran their record to a perfect 4-0.

In the first half, the guests from Knoxville, TN stayed with Alice Lloyd and led 24-16 at the 9–minute mark. The Eagles were playing their third game in four days and appeared winded.

However, on their next three possessions, ALC suddenly caught fire as they got consecutive three–point baskets from Wilson and freshmen Clint Stepp and Tyler Ailshie. When the dust cleared, they led 25-24 and would never relinquish the lead again.

Aided by 9 points from Hayes, the Eagles led 40-34 at intermission.

In the second half, Wilson heated up, tossing in 14 points. Alice Lloyd extended their lead to 22 points and was never seriously threatened.

For the victorious Eagles (4-0), Wilson led all scorers with 21 points. He also tied with Stepp for game–high assist honors with 4.

Hayes tossed in 18 and ripped down a game–high 9 rebounds. Junior Brent Hall chipped in 9 points and sophomores Terry Muse and Shawn Thompson contributed to the final tally with 8 points each.

The Royal Crusaders (1-1) were led by 19 points from guard Nate Humphrey.

ALC will now get a much needed break before they return to the hardwood. Their next match-up will take place on November 15th when they travel to Lexington, Virginia to face NCAA opponent VMI (Virginia Military Institute). Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
