The Alice Lloyd Eagles battled the visiting Milligan College Buffaloes for forty minutes before falling 88-78 last night.

In the first half, the Eagles were paced by freshmen guard Issac Wilson’s 17 points. He kept his team close as ALC trailed by five (42-37) at the break.

In the second half, senior Daniel Combs picked up where Wilson left off, and hit several shots which helped the Eagles take the lead with 9:04 remaining. The Buffaloes then regained the lead as the squads battled to the wire.

Another clutch Combs basket with 2:03 remaining cut the Eagle deficit to two at 77-75. On the ensuing possession, Milligan ran the shot clock down before guard Hudson Fricke drained a huge three pointer. This proved to be the back breaker as the Buffaloes hit their free throws to seal the win.

For Alice Lloyd (3-10), Combs tossed in all 19 of his points in the second half and was joined by Wilson with game high scoring honors. Junior Van Ferguson and sophomore Brent Hall also reached double figures adding 13 and 11 points apiece.

For Milligan (4-8), Tyler DeVault and Fricke led the way with 15 and 14 points respectively.
