{nl}Despite rainy weather, a large crowd gathered on the campus of Alice Lloyd College for the annual Appalachia Day Homecoming. In addition to traditional mountain music and Appalachian arts and crafts, this year marked the dedication of two new campus attractions. A ceremony celebrating the restoration of the Commodore Slone Building, which now houses our Business and Technology Center, was held in the Campbell Arts Center. Following this ceremony, friends and honored guests attended the unveiling of a statue of our founder, Alice Lloyd. This bronze statue was commissioned by ALC benefactors, Jim and Kay Morrissey, and cast by renowned sculptor, Raymond Graf.{nl}Please take a moment to view our Appalachia Day slideshow to relive the day’s events. A special thank you goes out to all those who attended and made the day such a great success!
