Dorthea Acker
Hi, I am Dorthea Acker! I am a Knott County native and I graduated from Hazard High School in 2015. I am currently a junior Biology major at Alice Lloyd College. I hope to pursue a career in Physician Assistant Studies and come back to help the people of Eastern Kentucky. I have really enjoyed my time here at ALC, so far. I am involved in both the Allied Health Club and Phi Beta Lambda. These organizations have given me the opportunity to meet lots of new people as well as travel the country. Alice Lloyd College offers a variety of clubs and organizations to be a part of and I hope to become more involved while I finish out my education here. I chose this college due to the close proximity to my home which allows me to commute to campus. Another reason I chose ALC is the environment. It truly feels like a huge family here. If you are in need, someone here is willing to help. That quality is very difficult to find in a college experience. Financially, I would not have been able to afford college without ALC. I hope you come visit us on campus soon! I can wait to meet you!
