Pippa Passes, KY: The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles roared back from a 9-point point halftime deficit to upend the visiting Milligan College Lady Buffaloes 81-67. The non-conference match-up took place on Monday, November 12th.

The start of the game saw the two squads come out hot, but the visitors closed with several buckets to lead 22-19. In the second quarter, the Lady Buffaloes would end the period the same way as the previous one. They would close once more on a mini-run and take a 41-32 advantage into the dressing room. In the third stanza, Coach John Mills’ ladies went to work.  Junior guard Haley Hall sparked a big run as her squad pumped in 28 points. When the dust settled to end the period, ALC led 60-58. In the final quarter, the hosts kept up their steady play and pulled away to earn the convincing victory.

For Alice Lloyd (4-2), Hall led the way with 25 points. She played a solid game as she also led the team with 8 rebounds and tied senior guard Katie Moore with 3 assists. Sophomore guard Hannah Kash pumped in 17 big points while Moore also reached double figures with 11 Senior forward Jayla Spurlock, junior forward Bailee Brainard, junior guard Shelby Davis, and Kash each recorded 2 steals.

ALC shot 40.5% (30-74) from the field and 25 % (4-16) from long range.  They would finish at 85% (17-20) from the charity stripe. Additionally, they registered 43 rebounds, 6 assists, and 11 steals.

Milligan (1-4) was led by Hannah Wyrick with 15 points. Her club connected on 38.7% (24-62) from the field and 34.4 % (11-32) from long range. At the foul line, they went 8-13 for 61.5%.  They also had 42 rebounds, 11 assists, and 5 steals.

The Lady Eagles return to action this weekend as they host the University of the Cumberlands at 2:00 pm.
