Pippa Passes, KY: The NCCAA Mideast Regional Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles hosted NAIA foe Asbury University on February 14th in a doubleheader. Following are recaps of each contest.

AU – 15
 Alice Lloyd – 0

The visitors jumped out to a 5-0 lead and then were forced to hold on for the win.

Asbury opened up the scoring with 2 runs in second inning and 3 more in the third.

The hosts would answer with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the inning, but would later find themselves trailing 8-2 entering the bottom of the fifth.

The hometown Eagles would fight back.

ALC would plate 1 run in the bottom half of the fifth inning and then produce 3 big runs in the sixth as freshman Abigail Stambaugh, drilled a triple to account for 2 RBI’s and junior Madisson Minks and sophomore Jada Estep both cracked doubles to fuel the late-inning resurgence.

Unfortunately, the rally died just a little short of a complete comeback.

Freshman Haley Howell took the pitching loss. She allowed 12 hits, but just 4 earned runs. She also struck out 4 with 3 walks.

Both squads recorded 12 hits on the day.
