ALC standout Blake Smith, a junior guard from Manchester, Kentucky, has been named River States Conference Player of the Week and NCCAA DI Student-Athlete of the Week for his excellent play in two big River States Conference matchups. 

Smith scored 32 points in a victory over Ohio Christian and turned around and scored another 32 points in a loss to No. 16 IU East. Smith shot 67 percent from the floor (26 for 39), made 5 of 7 3-pointers and 7 of 10 free throws on the week. He also added 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. 

The win over Ohio Christian included 13 for 18 shooting and going perfect from the outside (2 for 2) and from the foul line (4 for 4). The Eagles came up short versus IU East despite six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals from Smith. He was 3 for 5 from long range.

Smith and the Eagles return to action tonight at Midway University. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
