Pippa Passes, KY: The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball squad played host to a strong Johnson University Lady Royal club on Saturday. Below is a recap of the match.

Johnson University 25 25 25
Alice Lloyd  10 14 21

The Royals (5-2) came out of the gate strong and took game 1 with a 25-10 statement. In game 2, the hosts battled hard but JU kept the game under their control to win 25-14. In need of a strong effort to keep the contest going, the Lady Eagles jumped out to a 7-1 lead and forced the visitors to take a timeout. Johnson would respond with an 18-6 burst to vault ahead 19-13. Fortunately, ALC would refuse to go away as they answered with a 7-3 run of their own to trail by just 2 (22-20).

Unfortunately, the guests would close out the game and earn the hard-fought 25- 21 win and clinch the match.

For Alice Lloyd (3-4), junior Lindsey Perkins would lead the team in kills (6) and blocks (5) while freshman Sarah Howard led in both assists (9) and digs (11).

ALC returns to action on Tuesday, September 11 when they host the Midway Lady Eagles at 7:00 pm.
