We award the Eagles Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor to the entire Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles basketball team.
The squad won the Western Division Championship of the River States Conference and won two games to advance to the tournament championship. There, they faced 20th ranked University of Rio Grande on the Lady Red Storm home court. Despite trailing by 15 points in the third quarter, the Lady Eagles rallied to tie the score with under two minutes remaining. Even though they dropped a last-second 90-85 decision, they still earned a spot in the NAIA National Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.
ALC (24-5) will now face the top seed in their bracket, the third-ranked College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats (30-1) on Thursday, March 8th. Tipoff is set for 1:00 pm (EST).
