The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) have announced their 2017-2018 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athletes.
Lady Eagles star guard Kayla Wilson has been named to both lists. Kayla is a senior from Corbin, Kentucky, and is majoring in Business and Accounting.
For Alice Lloyd College Men’s Basketball, Chance Cornett has been named to both lists. Chance is a junior from Pippa Passes, Kentucky, and is majoring in Biology with minors in Business and Chemistry.
In order to be nominated as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify.
For the NCCAA, in order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
