We award the Eagles Male Student-Athlete of the Week honor to sophomore guard Blake Smith. Smith, a native of Manchester, Kentucky, performed well in leading his club to victory in two critical conference games this week.
In the 93-88 victory at Midway University on January 30, he scored 24 points on 8-15 field goals (2-4 trifectas) and 6-8 free throws while added 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal. In the Eagles thrilling 108-97 defeat over Asbury University, he led the way with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. He sank 5-11 field goals (1-4 trifectas) and 7-8 free throws while adding 3 assists and 1 block.
In the two games, he averaged 21 points on 50% shooting from the floor and 81.2% from the charity line as well as 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1 block.
