Wyoming, MI: On Friday, the 4th seeded Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball team faced the NCCAA’s top-ranked Kentucky Christian University Lady Knights in the semi-final round of the Mideast Regional Volleyball Tournament. When the last spike had been made, the Knights proved they were deserving of their ranking, winning the match in 3 straight games.

In the opening set, the Knights (27-5) came out playing brilliant volleyball as they were determined not to allow the Lady Eagles to stay within striking distance. They took the opener 25-7.

In game 2, a quick start by ALC soon evaporated as KCU went on a big run to take the match 25-12.

In Game 3, Alice Lloyd battled hard, but on this day, it was all Lady Knights as they took the contest 25-10.

On the night, freshman Kelsie Jackson and sophomore Emily Johnson led the club in kills with 2 each. Sophomores Haley Smith and Lindsey Perkins paved the way with 5 and 4 digs respectively while freshman Lakyn Wallace handed out 6 assists.

Despite the outcome of the match, ALC (10-13) concluded the season with a school-record in wins and also won their first-ever tournament game. They also will return the entire squad next season.
