Richmond, IN: The ALC Eagles golf team travelled up to Richmond, Indiana for the first Earlham College Invitational golf tournament at the Forest Hills Country Club September 30/October 1. Forest Hills is a parkland style golf course dating back to 1927. Playing conditions were excellent. The course was in great shape. The greens were very fast, making Forest Hills the greatest putting challenged faced by Eagles golfers.

ALC faced stiff competition from host Earlham College along with the College of Wooster, Marietta College, Bluffton University, Manchester University and IU Kokomo.

The Alice Lloyd players struggled the first day, with freshman Reece Ison shooting an 83 and Isaiah Penley shooting an 85 to lead the team to a team score of 344. The second day Aaron Minor shot a 77 and Jared Albright shot an 82 to lead the Eagles to a 333 and a final score of 677 to finish 5th of 7.

For the event, Minor finished T18 with a 167 two day total. Tyler Brewer shot 170 to finish T24, Albright shot 171 to finish T26, Ison shot 174 to finish T31 and Penley shot 179 to finish 40th.

The College of Wooster won the tournament shooting 321/314 for a two round total of 635. The individual champion was Colin O’Hern of Wooster who shot 82/73 for a 155 total; he then won in a playoff.

Next up for Eagles golfers is the conference preview tournament at Lassing Pointe in Union KY on October 9th and 10th.
