PIPPA PASSES:  The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball team held their first home match of the season as they faced the Hiwassee Tigers on Friday.

The contest went down to the very end and was close throughout, but the Eagles dropped a tough 3-2 decision.

The home club took the opener 25-21 before falling in Game 2 in a nail biter, 25-23. In the third game, the two combatants clawed for every point before the Tigers prevailed 25-21.

Hiwassee looked to put the match away in Game 4 and roared ahead 13-2. But ALC fought back valiantly to win, 26-24, and set up the decisive game.

In the last set, the Lady Eagles led 8-7, but the visitors closed the night on an 8-2 run to win 15-10 and take the match.

ALC returns home on Tuesday as they host Crown College. The match tips off at 6:00 pm.
