Clarks Summit (PA) and New York (NY): The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles volleyball team journeyed to the New England area to face Clarks Summit University, Pennsylvania as well as Kings College, New York over the weekend. When the dust had settled, ALC had earned a split.

The Lady Eagles first opponent was NCAA Division III Clark Summit. In a highly entertaining contest that was a nail-biter from start to finish, the visitors fell in five full games to the host Defenders:  24-26, 27-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-13.

Each and every match was tight as neither team was able to gain any sort of advantage. The two evenly matched clubs split the opening four games which fittingly led to a tie-breaking fifth set.

Tension was at a fever-pitch in the final match as the two clubs fought to a 13-13 tie. Unfortunately, two consecutive kills by the Defenders finally earned CS a hard-fought victory.

The second match was in New York City against the Kings College Lions of the USCAA.

After dropping the opening set, the girls from Kentucky roared back to sweep the next three games, and with it, the match.

The home fans were feeling good after seeing the Lions take the opener 25-16. However, their hopes were dashes when the Lady Eagles fought back to take the next two sets in impressive fashion. In game 4, ALC was determined not to let this match go the distance and they jumped ahead and held on for the decisive 25-19 victory. With the win, they clinched the match three games to one.

Freshman Kelsie Jackson and sophomore Samantha Sturgill led the way with 9 kills apiece while sophomores Emily Johnson and Lindsey Perkins were right behind with 8 and 7 respectively. Sturgill and Alexis Napier led the way with 3 aces apiece while freshman Lakyn Wallace had an impressive 27 assists.
