The Alice Lloyd College Men’s Golf team completed the 2016-2017 season at the River States Conference Championship, held at Lassing Pointe Golf Course in Union, KY. The weather was excellent, with temperatures ranging from the 50s to the 80, and the course played very well. 

Aaron Minor led the Eagles with 82/78/81 for a three-round total of 241 to finish 25th out of 57. Jared Albright shot 82/82/79 for a 243 to finish 29th. Jordan Slone shot 96/85/86 for a total of 267 to finish 51st and Dustin Tackett shot 122/119/112 to finish 55th. As a team, the Eagles were 382/364/358, good for 10th out of 11. Dustin Tackett was also named to the Conference’s Champions of Character team. 

Point Park University won the team championship, shooting 306/311/305 for a total of 922 to edge Asbury by three shots. The tournament champion was Matthew McCurry of Asbury University, who shot 73/72/71 for a total of 216, edging Taylor Suggs of Cincinnati Christian University by one shot. Point Park University and Asbury’s Matthew McCurry will represent the River States Conference at the NAIA Golf Championship May 16th – 19th at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL.
