Berea, KY: The Alice Lloyd Eagles traveled to Berea on Friday to face the home standing and 14th ranked Mountaineers in a doubleheader.

In game one, ALC fell to BC, 5-4 on the final play of the game.  The Mountaineers jumped ahead 1-0 before the visitors roared back to take a 3-1 lead entering the bottom of the fifth.

The game was tied at four with Berea batting in the bottom of the seventh when Andrew Akins singled driving in the winning run.

Alan Silva and Isaac Stephens each collected multiple hits to lead the Eagles, as both finished with 3 hits apiece.

Michael Smither started the game for the hosts. He tossed five innings, giving up three runs, nine hits, and striking out four.

Levi Martin started the game for ALC. He threw six innings, giving up four runs, six hits, and striking out three.

Tyler Pope earned the win in relief. He pitched one inning, giving up one run, and two hits.

Chase Wozniak took the loss for Eagles. He tossed two-thirds of an inning, surrendering one run, two hits, and walking one.

ALC lost despite out-hitting Berea College 11-7. They were hurt by 3 errors.

In game two, the Eagles fell 4-1. The visitors captured an early lead in the first inning as Alex White singled on a 0-1 count in the first inning, scoring one run.

BC evened things up at one in the bottom of the second inning and took the lead for good with one run in the third inning. The insurance blow was a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth.

Joshua Works earned the win for Berea College. He threw seven innings, allowing one run, eight hits, striking out eight, and walking one.

Broderick Moore took the loss for Eagles. He tossed five innings, surrendering four runs, seven hits, and striking out one.

The Eagles had five hits in the game. Austyn Turner and Alan Silva each collected two hits to lead the way. The victors finished with nine hits.
