PIPPA PASSES, KY:  The ALC Eagles hosted New River on Wednesday in a doubleheader.

In game one, the hosts watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 4-1 loss.

NR scored on a double by Utermark and a single by C. Morris in the first inning.

Morris earned the win for New River. He pitched seven innings, allowing one run, four hits, striking out six, and walking one.

Jake Weaver took the loss for Eagles. He went seven innings, surrendering four runs, five hits, and striking out six.

Austyn Turner led Eagles with two hits in three at bats.

In game two, an early lead helped Eagles defeat New River 11-1.

The hosts took an early lead in the first inning sparked by a Newley Burton homer on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs.

The Eagles next scored four runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a double by Alex White and a double by Alan SilvaLogan Price earned the win for Eagles. He threw five innings, allowing one run, six hits, and striking out two.

Murphy took the loss for NR. He tossed one inning, allowing five runs, three hits, striking out one, and walking one.

The victors had 11 hits in the game. Austyn Turner, White, and Isaac Stephens each had two hits to lead Eagles.

New River collected six hits.
