Game 1

ALC-3; WSL-1

The Alice Lloyd Eagles defeated Wright State – Lake 3-1 on Saturday after taking the lead late in the game.

Wright State captured the lead in the first inning, but the Eagles knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning when Alex White grounded in one run.

The game remained tied until the bottom of the fifth when there was an error, scoring one run for the hosts.

The pitching was strong on both sides as Levi Martin earned the win for Eagles. He threw seven solid innings, giving up one run, four hits, and striking out three. Carson Schuman took the loss for Lake. He pitched six innings, giving up three runs, five hits, striking out one, and walking one.

Garret Gay and White each drove in one run to lead the Eagles.

Game 2

ALC-6; WSL-8

The Eagles stayed in it until the end, but Wright State – Lake pulled away late in an 8-6 victory on Saturday. Lake trailed 6-5 in the top of the sixth inning when Chad Anders singled to drive in two runs.

Despite the loss, the hosts did collect eight hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Lake had 11 hits on the way to victory. The Eagles captured the lead in the first inning. Ryne Loggins drove in two when he doubled in the first inning.

Quintin Cantelli earned the win for WSL. He threw two and a third innings, surrendering zero runs, one hit, striking out two, and walking zero. Broderick Moore took the loss for Eagles. He tossed three and a third innings, surrendering four runs, eight hits, striking out one, and walking one.

Ronnie Saylor and Alan Silva each collected multiple hits for Eagles.

Game 3

ALC-10; WSL-13

The Eagles lost the lead late in a 13-10 defeat to Wright State – Lake on Sunday.  Lake trailed 9-8 in the top of the ninth inning when Dustin Lewis singled off of Alan Silva, driving in two runs.

The visitors captured the lead in the second inning only to see the hosts come back to tie the game. ALC then scored four runs in the seventh inning thanks to a double by Newley Burton, a single by Ryne Loggins, and a single by Chase Wozniak.

Jake Weaver started the game for Eagles. He pitched four and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs, seven hits, striking out three, and walking one. Dan Borchers started the game for Lake. He went six and a third innings, surrendering six runs, 11 hits, striking out one, and walking one.

Chase Ruiz earned the win for WSL. He threw two innings, allowing one run, one hit, and striking out one.  Silva took the loss for Eagles. He went one inning, surrendering seven runs, six hits, striking out two, and walking one.

ALC did blast 16 hits in the high-scoring affair. Loggins, Burton, Austyn Turner, Andrew Flynn, and Wozniak each collected multiple hits, led by Burton and Loggins with three hits each.
