Williamsburg, KY: The Alice Lloyd College baseball team journeyed to Williamsburg to face a strong University of the Cumberlands Patriot club on Wednesday. The game was tight for five innings before the hosts pulled out to a 12-2 victory.

In the opening inning, the Patriots scored three runs backed by a triple. They added another one inning later to lead 4-0.

The Eagles would fight back in the fourth. First, Alan Silva reached base on a hit and was driven in by Newley Burton. This was followed by a Ryne Loggins triple which scored Burton. After the dust settled, ALC only trailed 4-2.

Cumberland scored five runs in the fifth inning to blow the game open. The big inning for Cumberland came thanks to a home run by Chase Schmittou.

Brian Way earned the win for Cumberland. He threw four innings, allowing two runs, three hits, striking out three, and walking zero. Broderick Moore took the loss for the Eagles. He went four and a third innings, giving up nine runs, eight hits, and struck out two.

Cumberland collected 12 hits while the Eagles had 5. Silva led the way with 2 hits including a double
