Wilmore, KY  The Alice Lloyd College Eagles traveled to Wilmore to face the home standing Asbury University Eagles on Thursday.  In a game that went down to the wire, the home team had eked out a 77- 74 victory.

In the opening half, the game was tight throughout. Asbury, who leads the nation in scoring at over 105 points per game, jumped out to an early five-point lead at 9-4.  However, over the next ten minutes, ALC would outscore them by twelve (24-12) to lead 28-21 with 7:15 remaining. The host Eagles fought back and would get a three-point play at the buzzer to lead 42-41 at intermission

In the second half, the Eagles would come out riding the scoring of junior forward Jake Allen who was simply unstoppable.  After trailing by as many as nine, Alice Lloyd would feed the big man who scored at will. His late bucket with .59 remaining reduced the deficit to just one (75-74).

On the next possession, the host team missed and gave the ball back to ALC with a chance to take the lead. Unfortunately, they lost the ball with 25 ticks left and were forced to foul. Asbury hit two foul shots, and the visiting Eagles got a three-point attempt to tie at the buzzer, but it fell short.

For ALC (4-13; 2-5 RSC), Allen connected on 10-16 from the floor and a perfect 11-11 from the charity line for 31 points with 20 of those coming in the second half.; Additionally, he added 7 rebounds.

Sophomore guard Ryan House added 11 points (sinking three bombs) while sophomore forward Simon Christon came off the bench to register a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Junior guard Austin Crisp led in assists with 2.

Alice Lloyd connected on an excellent 36.2% (25-69) from the field but was just 18.8% (3-16) from long range. From the charity line, they sank a solid 80.8% (21-26). Additionally, they registered 47 rebounds, 8 steals, 3 assists, and 3 blocks.

Asbury (9-8; 4-4 RSC), was led by Tyler Smith with 17 points and 15 rebounds. His club connected on 43.9% (29-66) from the field and 25% (6-24) from long range. From the foul line, they hit 59.1% (13-22). They also had 41 rebounds, 8 steals, and 5 assists.
