KOKOMO, IN: The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles were undone by cold shooting and dropped a 79-58 decision to the home-standing Indiana University Kokomo Lady Cougars over the weekend.

Sparked by six early points from Whitney Williamson, the Cougars raced out to a 19-8 lead. ALC scored the last five points of the quarter and trailed 19-13 after one.

In the second stanza, the girls from Caney Creek opened on a 14-9 run. A bucket by junior guard Miranda Wilson reduced the deficit to just one (28-27) with 3:55 remaining.

However, ten consecutive points from Williamson and teammate Deja Felder allowed IUK to extend their lead and they entered the locker room on top, 41-31.

In the third quarter, the Lady Eagles would continue to battle, and they would get as close as 47-41 after freshman forward Jayla Spurlock drained a jumper with 5:11 remaining. Unfortunately, Williamson and Felder lead Kokomo on a 10-5 run to close the period.

Trailing 57-46 with ten minutes remaining, Alice Lloyd was never able to get closer than nine points the remainder of the way and watched the hosts sink late free throws to put the match on ice.

For ALC (4-3; 0-2 RSC), senior Sara Robinson battled her taller opponents all night inside contributing a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Wilson was the only other teammate to reach double figures as she added 10.

Alice Lloyd was their own worst enemy as they shot a frigid 27.5% (16-69) from the field and 22.2 % (6-27) from long range. They were solid from the charity line, draining 77.8% (14-18). Additionally, they registered 37 rebounds, 8 steals, 5 assists, and 2 blocks.

Kokomo (6-4; 2-0 RSC) were sparked all night by Williamson and Felder with 20 and 19 points respectively. Williamson hauled down 13 rebounds as well. Her club connected on a solid 50.9% (28-55) from the field and 38.9% (7-18) from long range. They attempted 18 free throws, swishing 16 (88.9%) and also had 41 big rebounds, 5 steals, 14 assists, and 3 blocks.

The Lady Eagles return to action this weekend when they return home to face the Brescia Lady Bearcats Saturday, December 10th in conference play. Tip-off is set for 2: 00 pm.
