NASHVILLE, TN:  Twin sisters Miranda Wilson and Kayla Wilson combined for 48 points to spark the visiting Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles to an 82-59 victory over the home-standing Welch College Flames Tuesday night.

In the opening quarter, Coach John Mills Lady Eagles played solid defense and jumped out to a 15-10 lead. However, in the second quarter, the Flames heated up and outscored their visitors 24-19. The game was knotted at 34 by intermission.

With the contest anyone’s for the taking, ALC was determined not to have the game go down to the wire. They came out of the locker room and rode the hot shooting of the Wilson twins to pull ahead 57-50 by quarters end.

The sisters continued their torrid pace in the final stanza on offense. They also saw their club dominate the defensive end in the last quarter and outscore their foes 25-9 to close out the game.

For the victorious Eagles (4-1), junior Miranda Wilson led all scorers with 29 points. She sank 10-17 field goals (4-5 three-pointers) and was a perfect 5-5 from the charity line. She added game-highs of 5 assists and 4 steals and pulled down 5 rebounds in a dominating performance.

Kayla Wilson was magnificent as well as the junior tossed in 19 points on 7-12 field goals and 5-7 long bombs. She added 3 steals.

Junior Sara Robinson was a workhorse inside as the rugged forward registered a double-double with 14 points (6-10 FG attempts) and ripped down a game high of 11 rebounds. Senior Amber Shepherd added to the rebounding haul by snatching 8 of her own.

The Eagles connected on 43.7% (31-71) from the floor and 37% (10-27) from long range. They had 52 huge rebounds, 15 assists, and 22 steals.

Johnson connected on just 32.7% (18-55) from the floor and 25% (4-16) from long range. They had 34rebounds, 7 assists, and 8 steals. They also committed 19 turnovers.
