The 2016 Alice Lloyd College Fall invitational was held at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg, KY on Monday, September 5th and Tuesday, September 6th. This tournament had a strong field, including Indiana Tech, ranked 35th nationally, as well as Shawnee State and UPike from the Mid-South Conference, Kentucky Wesleyan from the Great Midwest Conference, Bluefield College of the Appalachian Athletic Conference, West Virginia University Tech and Ohio Christian University from our River States Conference, Welch College and Hiwassee CC, fellow NCCAA members and, our sister work college in Kentucky, Berea College of the USA South Conference.

Indiana Tech won the tournament, shooting 292 the first round and 290 the second round for a 582 and a 14 stroke win over runner-up UPike. Indiana Tech’s  Dylan Holsclaw shot 70 the first round and 67 the second round for a 7 under par total of 137 for an 8 shot win over Dathan Terry also of Indiana Tech. Kevin Kim of Berea College and Roger Maynard of UPike tied for third while Burgess Clark of UPike and Christian Tooley of Kentucky Wesleyan tied for fifth to round out the all-tournament team.

The ALC Men’s Golfers finished 5th of 11 teams in the strong tournament, making this the best finish ever by an ALC men’s golf team. Beating teams like Bluefield, Ohio Christian, and West Virginia Tech is a major step forward for our team. Eagles golfers were very consistent round to round. It was truly an outstanding effort. The Eagles were lead by Jared Albright, going 77/81 for 158, and Tyler Brewer, going 79/79 for a 158. Zach Hancock shot 159, Aaron Minor shot 160 and Justin Smith shot 178. Jordan Slone fired a 183, an impressive improvement over the 211 he shot in the Ohio Christian Invite a week and a half ago.

ALC Men’s Golf will participate in the UPike Fall Invitational on October 1st and 2nd at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg, KY.
