The Eagles register 2 hits, drop 8-0 contest to Midway University
The Eagles fell 8-0 to Midway University at Midway, Ky on Friday.
In the second, Midway University scored when Missa Walker drew a bases loaded walk, plating Kim Roberts.
Midway University added three more runs in the bottom of the third. Addie Murphy started the inning with a double, plating Roberts and Gabby Bruner.
MU matched its two-run second inning with two more in the sixth.
Aly Webb pitched well in a losing effort, allowing no walks. The Eagles’ pitcher pitched 3 1/3 innings, allowing two earned runs and five hits while striking out two.
Game 2 at Midway
Errors prove costly as Eagles drop 17-1 contest to Midway University
The Eagles lost 17-1 to Midway University Friday at Midway, Ky despite Megan Jones’s two-hit day at the dish.
Midway University didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the first inning when it scored on a sacrifice fly by Dee Lewis and an RBI single by Jeri Bogard.
The hosts added 10 more runs in the bottom of the second. Katie Morgan kicked things off with a single, bringing home Addie Murphy. That was followed up by Bogard’s single, scoring Morgan and Ashley Vasquez.
The visiting Eagles scored their only run of the game on a ground out by Madison Haymaker in the third inning.
