12342519_1658385137736379_1666243312104532681_nSophomore guard Lindsey Proffitt swished in 25 points to lead the June Buchanan Lady Crusaders to a come-from behind 56-44 over the visiting Jackson City Lady Tigers.

The Tigers took the early lead, but the Crusaders kept within striking distance. JBS trailed by 8 at intermission.

In the second half, Buchanan tightened up their defense and did a much better job of limiting Jackson’s rebounds. They took a 4 point lead going into the final quarter.

In the last quarter, June Buchanan controlled the clock. When the Tigers were forced to foul, Buchanan sank the clutch free throws to pull away.

For the victors, Proffitt received help from Breana Harrington who added 12. Megan Hall and Alexis Likens contributed 8 points apiece while Kaitlin Everidge sank a bomb for 3 points.

On the night, Coach Brandon Hayes’ club sank an outstanding 25-30 from the charity stripe.

The June Buchanan Lady Crusaders traveled to Louisa to battle the Lawrence Co. Bulldogs on Friday, December 11th. In a game that was tight throughout, the Crusaders pulled to an 8 point halftime lead and maintained it to earn a big 57-48 victory.

In the first half, the visitors led from the opening tip. Sparked by the play from sophomores Lindsey Proffitt and Breana Harrington, they took a 29-21 lead into intermission.

In the second half, the Bulldogs battled hard, but the Lady Crusaders refused to give any ground and was able to withstand every challenge thrown at them.

For JBS (2-2), they were led by Proffitt with 25. Harrington was right behind her with 21. Megan Hall and Kaitlin Everidge chipped in with 6 and 5 apiece.
