Game 1

ALC-7; PPU-15

Ryne Loggins

The Eagles trailed by just one run after five innings before PPU broke the contest open late.

The Eagles smacked the ball well as they produced 12 hits. Trae Minton and Patrick Barnett led the way with 3 hits apiece while Alex White and Ryne Loggins each had 2. Unfortunately, four costly errors permitted the visitors to break the game wide open.

Pitcher Logan Condra suffered the loss on the mound.

Game 2

ALC-1; PPU-13

JT Haynes

PPU led from start to finish in winning the final game.

Trae Minton and JT Haynes each swatted 2 hits apiece as they accounted for 4 of the Eagles 6 hits.

Pitcher Justin Smith suffered the loss.

Eagles mentor Scott Cornett had high praise for Trae Minton who batted .538 against the conference’s best team (overall, he finished 7-13 with 1 double and 1 triple) as well as Aaron Boling who pitched an excellent opening game. Cornett likes the work ethic of his squad and knows with more experience, his team will continue to improve.
