The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles shot a frigid 31% from the floor and fell to the visiting Pikeville Lady Bears 78-53 last night.

In the first half, the game remained tight as ALC sophomore Ariel Nickell tossed in 12 early points. At intermission, Pikeville had eased out to a 34-28 lead.

In the second half, the Eagles went stone cold, and Pikeville took advantage of ALC’s inability to produce offensively.  Sparked by forward Whitney Jackson, the Bears put the contest out of reach.

For ALC (0-3), Nickell led the way with a game–high 24 points and 6 rebounds. Freshman Taylor Hott displayed a ton of hustle, accumulating 13 points and 5 rebounds.

Jackson led the Bears (1-1) with 22.

Alice Lloyd returns to the hardwood this weekend as they travel to Athens, Tennessee to participate in the Tennessee Wesleyan Classic. Tip-off time will be announced.
