Tessa Amburgey, a junior from The June Buchanan School, has been selected to participate in the PEPP Program (Professional Education Preparation Program) this summer.  PEPP is hosted by the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine (PCSOM) and directed by Ewell Vernon.

Students will spend two weeks on campus learning anatomy, histology, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, and pharmacology of the ten major human organ systems through presentations provided by PCSOM faculty and second-year students from PCSOM.  PEPP students have the opportunity to participate in gross anatomy and functional anatomy labs while engaging in clinical observations at Pikeville Medical Center.  Students can spend time in several key departments including radiology, neo-natal, cardiac cath lab, stress, family practice, and surgery.

Tessa is the daughter of Fred and Leisha Amburgey of Pine Top, Kentucky.
