The Alice Lloyd College baseball team hosted KIAC foe Cincinnati Christian University in a two day doubleheader over the weekend. The Eagles won all 4 games to run their conference record to 6-3 and overall record to 13-11. Following are recaps of each game.

April 1
Game 1; ALC-6, CCU-2

CCU scored first, only to watch the Eagles storm back and earn the win. ALC outhit their guests 9-6, with Brandon Arnold and Cody Hyden swatting 2 hits apiece. Eagle pitcher Trevor Corns struck out 8 batters, and Andrew Riley relieved in the last inning, striking out 2 more.

Game 2; ALC-11, CCU-1
The Eagles scored in every inning, outhitting their guests 9-5. Brandon Arnold, Cody Hyden, and Will Leonard had 2 hits apiece, and Hyden had 4 big RBI’S. On the mound, Hyden went the distance as he struck out 5 batters.

April 2
Game 1; ALC-4, CCU-1

CCU scored first, only to watch the Eagles come back and earn the win. ALC was outhit by their guests 6-3, with Jordan Stumbo’s double being the biggest hit. Pitcher Corey Brewer went the distance to earn the win.

Game 2; ALC-6, CCU-0
Southpaw pitcher Neil Dillon tossed a 3 hit shutout to lift the Eagles to the victory. The Eagles outhit their guests 8-3, with Jordan Stumbo and Shane Pack registering 2 hits apiece. DH Wayne Sparks had 2 RBI’s. The play of the day was an incredible diving catch by Eagle centerfielder Josh Branham in the last inning.
