The Alice Lloyd Eagles traveled to Owensboro to battle Brescia University on Saturday in a big conference matchup. ALC eventually succumbed to the Bearcats 95-78.

In the first half, both squads came out firing. After an entertaining twenty minutes, BU led 45-38.

In the second half, ALC put up 40 more points. Unfortunately their defense had trouble holding down the hot shooting hosts who tossed in 50. For the game, BU hit 10-17 (58.8%) of their threes as they sealed the win.

For Alice Lloyd (3-12, 0-2 KIAC), they were led by junior Van Ferguson (Paintsville) with 15. He was joined in double figures by senior Daniel Combs (Hazard) and freshman Issac Wilson (Corbin) with 14 and 13 points apiece.

Brescia (5-12, 1-2) was led by Bryce Garrett with 23.

After being forced by snow to move this Tuesday’s conference home matchup with Cincinnati Christian until February 6th, the Eagles will next return to action for a critical two game conference road trip this weekend. On Friday, Jan. 14th they will battle St. Louis College of Pharmacy at Berea College, with an 8 pm tipoff. They follow this up Saturday with a 1pm showdown at Indiana University-East.
