{nl}Alice Lloyd College made a huge run in the second half, but fell at the hands of the Berea Mountaineers, 87-79. The KIAC matchup was played at the Grady Nutt Athletic Center.{nl}Before the contest got underway, ALC honored their only senior, four year member, guard Keith Warner. {nl}Once play began, BC guard Micah Turner put on a shooting clinic. The nation’s leading scorer (27.1 ppg) tossed in 22 first half points to propel the Mountaineers to a 51-30 lead at intermission.In the second half, ALC refused to surrender as they began to slowly cut into the deficit.{nl}Sparked offensively by Will Jones, Brandon Hayes, and Brandon Burgraff, and defensively by the entire squad, the Eagles reduced the margin to just 8 with 5:00 remaining. {nl}Alice Lloyd had several chances to get closer but, unfortunately, was unable to connect on key free throws. The Mountaineers then hit two buckets to thwart the last Eagle comeback.{nl}For ALC (6-16; 1-7), the junior Jones finished with 24 points. He was assisted by sophomore Hayes and freshman Burgraff with 11 points apiece. Sophomore Nick Brumback chipped in with 9.Warner dished out a team leading 4 assists, while Hayes and Brumback led the rebounding totals with 6 each.{nl}For Berea (16-9; 5-4), Turner led all scorers with 28, but concentrated Eagle defense limited him to only 6 in the second half.{nl}Alice Lloyd has five regular season games remaining. They first travel to Wilmore on Thursday, February 11 to play the Asbury Eagles at 7:30 pm. They will return to Pippa Passes on Saturday, February 13 as they face the IU East Red Wolves at 4pm, then follow that up with their last home game of the season on February 15 against the Cincinnati Christian Eagles at 7:30 pm. They hit the road the following night as they travel to New Albany, Indiana to face the Indiana University Grenadiers at 8 pm, and will close out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 20 when they travel to Owensboro to face the Brescia Bearcats at 4pm.
