Brescia University guard Brittany Bird poured in 28 points and dished out 7 assists to help lead her Lady Bearcats to a 90-66 victory over the home standing Lady Eagles Wednesday night.{nl}In the first half, Brescia jumped out to an early double-figure lead fueled by four consecutive three-point baskets from guard Kendra McIntyre.  ALC, sparked by forward Heather Martin’s 11 points, was able to slice the deficit to seven (34-27) by intermission.{nl}In the second half, BU rode the play of Bird to extend their lead once more to double digits. Each time the Lady Eagles would make a run, Bird would respond with a clutch basket to turn the momentum in her team’s favor.  Sixteen of her points came in the final 20 minutes.{nl}For ALC (4-9), Martin paced the way with 17.  Junior Nicole Lutes added 15 points and a team high 6 rebounds.{nl}For BU (7-9), in addition to Bird’s 28, McIntyre added 18 points,  on six three-point baskets.{nl}The Lady Eagles travel to Cincinnati on Saturday, January 16th looking to get back on the winning track as they face the Cincinnati Christian Lady Eagles.
