The Alice Lloyd Eagles traveled to Louisville Monday afternoon to face the Eutectics of St. Louis College of Pharmacy. The game was played at the Louisville Hoops Academy. After a tight first half, ALC pulled away and earned their first conference win73-60. {nl}The Eagles played the contest without leading scorer Nick Brumback, who was ill. In the first half, SLCOP controlled the tempo, and this enabled them to squeeze out a two point lead by intermission (37-35).{nl}In the second half, the Eagles roared out of the gates strong, as they pushed the ball well and kept SLCOP on the defensive. The fast tempo allowed ALC to gain control of the contest and eventually stretch their lead to as much as twenty in earning the big victory.{nl}For ALC (5-11; 1-3), three players reached double figures. Brandon Brugraff played well, as the freshman guard tossed in a career high 17 to lead the way. He was followed closely by junior guard Daniel Combs with16. Senior guard Keith Warner chipped in with 11.{nl}For the Eutectics (1-11; 0-2), center Matt Finet led the way with 17.{nl}ALC returns to the confines of home on Thursday, January 21st, as they face a visit from strong NCAA II foe, the 10-3 Tornado of King College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30.
