The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles traveled to Pikeville and suffered a close 81-77 setback at the hands of the highly regarded Pikeville Lady Bears on Monday night. {nl}Both clubs played well as the first twenty minutes were nip and tuck. When the dust settled, the score was knotted at 38.{nl}In the second half, the Lady Eagles slowly pulled out to a double digit lead. When ALC junior guard Bree Frazier hit a driving layup at the 7:34 mark, the lead was twelve (67-55).{nl}The Lady Bears, sparked by the outstanding play of forward Natiera Hinton, scored thirteen unanswered points to regain the lead. PC then was able to hit their free throws at the end to hang on for the victory.{nl}For ALC (1-3), they were led in scoring by junior Bailey Gabbard with 22 points. She connected on 7-13 field goals (including 4-7 shooting from behind the arc), and added 3 rebounds.{nl}Lone senior Kelli Jo Moore came off the bench to play a big game as she connected on 5-6 field goals and 8-10 free throws to finish with 18 points.{nl}Also in double figures was junior Ashley Mynster, who provided another spark off the bench as she finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds.{nl}In addition for Alice Lloyd, Frazier had a game high 12 assists and sophomore Alison Feltner pulled down a team high 9 rebounds.{nl}ALC was forced to play without the services of starting forward Nicole Lutes who was sick with a virus.{nl}For PC (2-0), they were led by Hinton’s career high 41 points and 9 rebounds. Joining her in double figures was Lauren Potts with 12. {nl}ALC returns to the hardwood on Thursday when they travel to Parkersburg, West Virginia to face the Fighting Scots of Ohio Valley University in an exhibition game.  Tipoff is set for 7pm.
