The Alice Lloyd Eagles traveled to Madisonville, Tennessee Saturday night and suffered a narrow 90-88 defeat at the hands of the Hiwassee Tigers.{nl}ALC won the first meeting on October 31 in a high scoring affair, 123-115. Game two was tight from the tipoff as both squads played at breakneck speed. At intermission, the score was knotted at 43.{nl}In the second half, ALC matched the Tigers point for point, but in the closing seconds of the game, Hiwassee managed to hit their free throws to pull out the two point decision.{nl}For ALC (1-3), four players reached double figures. They were led in scoring by sophomore forward Nick Brumback with 18. Sophomore guard Van Ferguson played well as he netted 14 points. He also pulled down a team high 10 rebounds. Fellow sophomore Brandon Hayes added 14 points, while junior Will Jones chipped in with 10.{nl}Hiwassee (3-1) was led by their fine forward Adrian McLaurin who poured in 43 points.{nl}The Eagles return to action on Tuesday, November 17, when they travel to Louisville for a showdown with the 5-0 St. Catherine Patriots. Tipoff is set for 7:30pm.
